Our history
Where dreams and relaxation become reality
Our dream is a place in the mountains – far away from everyday life, away from the hustle and bustle and stress. Nestled in a breathtaking natural landscape, our lovely village lies at an altitude of 1,000 metres above sea level. Here, tradition and style combine with a generous dose of Tyrolean hospitality.
The Chalet Waschkuchl is located right in the heart of „Austria's Most Beautiful Village“ and is surrounded by a breathtaking mountain panorama. Leave everyday life behind you!

Since 2019, the Chalet Waschkuchl has been run by Anna and Johannes as a lovingly designed retreat for guests from all over the world.

Our history
Milestones
1906
The beginnings as a stable Construction of the building for housing horses for arable farming, hay harvesting and the winter timber transport from Alpbach to Brixlegg railway station.
1950 – 1952
From tractor to beer store After tractors replace horses, an in-house slaughterhouse and a washroom for boiling laundry (the origin of the name „Waschkuch'l“) are created. In addition, in 1952 the Tyrol brewery Adambräu builds an extension in order to supply landlords and clubs with chilled beer from here.
1991
The „Waschkuch'l Bar“ A bar is being created out of the former storeroom, which, fitting with the history, will be given the name „Waschkuch’l Bar“.
2018 – 2019
Acquisition & new chalet The chalet is taken over and run by Anna and Johannes, followed by the opening of the new chalet as a modern retreat for guests from all over the world.

Alpbach - The most beautiful village in Austria
Nestled between the Kitzbühel Alps and the Rofan Mountains lies the family-friendly village of Alpbach. Whether in spring, summer and autumn, or winter.
The Alpbachtal is perfect for walkers, mountain bikers, climbers and sports enthusiasts. Numerous walking trails on the mountain and in the valley, several bathing lakes and 25 official mountain bike routes are waiting to be discovered.
In winter, you can let off steam on 109 kilometres of pistes in the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau. The Chalet Waschkuchl is centrally located.
